FAQs

How Much Do Removalists Charge Per Hour?

Moving within the same city typically costs between $100 and $200 per hour. Hourly rates charged by removalists can differ significantly, as the expense of relocating a large family residence differs much from relocating a 1-bedroom apartment, for example. This is because rates vary based on the service requested and the number of objects to be relocated.

As a general rule, the smaller the truck, the cheaper the hourly rate. Be wary of firms that drastically undercut the competition; they frequently levy hidden fees and may not provide essentials such as adequate insurance or trained movers.

What Is The Average Price Of A Removalist?

Moving within the same city typically costs between $100 and $200 per hour. An apartment removal can cost around $200 to $600, and a house move might cost about $500 to $1600. The removal cost varies according to the service you desire, the number of things to be relocated, and the distance between places.

Move It Mate does not collect used boxes. We'd be pleased to arrange for them to be taken to the tip for you (at an extra hourly cost, and the tip is the client's responsibility). Move It Mate strongly suggests reselling your boxes on an online marketplace such as Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace. There is always a huge demand for used boxes.

What Type Of Insurance Do You Provide, And Is It Included In Your Quote?

Unless otherwise noted, every quote supplied by Move It Mate includes our $50,000 Public Liability insurance and a $1 million Transport Insurance (inclusive of loading and unloading). If we agree with the client that a specific item is too fragile or risky to transport, insurance is not included in the reservation.

How Much Time Does Moving Usually Take?

Traffic, distance, road closures/detours, toll roads, how prepared you are, the amount of packing, accessibility at each home, and other considerations can all impact the timing of a move. All work finished is based on our 2-hour minimum rate, with a pro-rata charge per 1-minute increment – you only pay for the hour if you use the hour.
